Day10- మరణంపై విజయం: విముక్తి కలిగించే సర్పం మరియు దైవకృప

మరణానికి చిహ్నంగా భావించే సర్పం , జీవానికి మార్గంగా మారడం అనేది క్రైస్తవ చరిత్రలో అత్యంత ఆశ్చర్యకరమైన మరియు లోతైన ఆధ్యాత్మిక సత్యం. యోహాను సువార్త 3:1–17 వచనాలలో యేసుప్రభువు తనను తాను అరణ్యంలోని పాముతో పోల్చుకోవడం ఒక వింతైన వైరుధ్యంగా కనిపిస్తుంది. ప్రాణాంతకమైన విష సర్పాల వల్ల చనిపోతున్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను కాపాడటానికి, ఒక ఇత్తడి పామును పైకి ఎత్తినప్పుడు దానిని చూసిన వారు ఎలా బతికారో, అలాగే తనను చూసే వారు కూడా రక్షించబడతారని ఆయన వివరించారు. ప్రేమ స్వరూపి అయిన క్రీస్తు, ప్రాణాలు తీసే పాముతో తనను తాను పోల్చుకోవడం పాఠకులకు దిగ్భ్రాంతిని కలిగిస్తుంది. ఈ పోలిక ద్వారా రక్షణ గురించిన సంప్రదాయ భావనలను సవాలు చేస్తూ, మరణం నుండే జీవం ఎలా ఉద్భవిస్తుందో ఆయన మనకు తెలియజేస్తున్నారు.

 యేసు ఈ క్రింది మూడు ప్రధాన శత్రువులను తన మరణ దెబ్బతో ఓడించారు:

• మరణం (Death): నిత్య మరణం నుండి మానవాళికి విముక్తి కలిగించారు.
• పాపం (Sin): మనిషిని బంధించిన పాపపు శృంఖలాలను తెంచివేశారు.
• అపవాది (Devil): సమస్త దుష్టశక్తులపై అంతిమ విజయాన్ని సాధించారు.

ఈ విజయం కేవలం శత్రువుల నాశనం మాత్రమే కాదు; ఇది మరణపు కోరల్లో చిక్కుకున్న మానవ జీవితాన్ని పరిరక్షించే దైవకృప.

3. బాప్తిస్మం మరియు అంతర్గత పరివర్తన

యేసు సాధించిన ఈ విశ్వవ్యాప్త విజయం, బాప్తిస్మం ద్వారా మన వ్యక్తిగత జీవితాలలోకి ప్రవేశిస్తుంది. అరణ్యంలో సర్పాల విషం వల్ల ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు మరణానికి దగ్గరైనప్పుడు, ఎత్తబడిన ఇత్తడి పాము వారికి రక్షణనిచ్చింది. అదేవిధంగా, మన పాపపు స్థితి అనే విషానికి బాప్తిస్మం ఒక "విష విరుగుడు" (Antidote) లాంటిది. బాప్తిస్మం అనేది కేవలం ఒక బాహ్య ఆచారం కాదు; అది మనలోని మరణాన్ని దైవకృపతో అంతం చేసే ప్రక్రియ. సర్పం ఎలాగైతే పైకి ఎత్తబడిందో, అలాగే సిలువపై ఎత్తబడిన క్రీస్తు వైపు మనం చూసినప్పుడు మనలో ఒక అంతర్గత మార్పు సంభవిస్తుంది. మన మనుగడ సాగాలంటే ఈ పరివర్తన అత్యంత అవసరం. మనం జీవం కోసం ఆయన వైపు చూసినప్పుడు, మనలోని మృతప్రాయమైన స్థితి తొలగిపోయి నూతన జీవం ఉద్భవిస్తుంది.

4. సిలువపై విజయం: సర్వలోకానికి రాజు

సాధారణంగా లోకం సిలువను ఒక ఓటమిగా లేదా అవమానకరమైన శిక్షగా చూస్తుంది. కానీ యోహాను సువార్త దృక్పథంలో, సిలువ అనేది యేసు సర్వాధికారాన్ని ప్రకటించే ఒక సింహాసనం. సిలువపైనే ఆయన సర్వలోక శక్తులపై రాజుగా (King over all powers) పట్టాభిషిక్తుడయ్యారు. శత్రువులను సంపూర్ణంగా ఓడించి, తన రాజరికపు విజయాన్ని లోకానికి చాటిన స్థలం అది. ఇది కేవలం ఒక బలియాగం మాత్రమే కాదు, అపారమైన దైవకృపతో కూడిన రక్షణ కార్యం. ఆ సిలువపై నుండే ఆయన తన సర్వాధికారాన్ని చాటుతూ, లోకాన్ని నిత్య మరణం నుండి విడిపించి రక్షించారు.

The Serpent and the Savior: A Mercy Killing of Death

The Shocking Comparison

In the shadows of the wilderness, the serpent was the dealer of death. Its venom was the end of the story for the rebellious Israelites. Yet, in a move that shatters our religious expectations, Jesus identifies himself with that very predator. This is a staggering paradox. We expect the Savior to be a lamb, not a viper. But to understand the "lifting up" of the Son of Man, we must confront this visceral image. The poisonous killer becomes the icon of the Healer. The source of the sting becomes the source of the cure. This divine irony is not a mere metaphor; it is the opening movement of a lethal strike against evil.

The Mercy of the Final Blow

In the theater of spiritual warfare, a partial victory is no victory at all. Success requires a definitive conclusion. The French phrase coup de grâce describes this strategic necessity. It is the "mercy killing"—the final blow delivered to end a victim's suffering. Jesus did not come to negotiate with our captors. He came to execute a mercy killing of the forces of destruction. He delivered this decisive strike to three specific entities:

• Death
• Sin
• The Devil

This cosmic execution is not restricted to the pages of history. It translates from a universal triumph into a personal liberation.

The Internal Strike: Mercy in Baptism

The "mercy killing" of death must penetrate the human heart to be effective. Baptism serves as the strategic site for this internal strike. It is the mechanism where mercy finds the death residing within us and puts it to the sword. In these waters, mercy kills the death in us. We are not merely improved; we are rescued from the inside out. This internal execution of our old nature allows us to finally be saved. This personal transformation is fueled by the raw power unleashed during the cosmic battle of the crucifixion.

The Throne of the Cross

We often view the cross as a site of tragic suffering, but the Johannine perspective reveals it as a site of absolute conquest. The cross is where the Savior ascends his throne. He does not merely endure his enemies; he crushes their resistance. Through his sacrifice, Jesus subdues every rival authority. He is made king over all the powers. He wins the victory by turning the weapon of death against itself. This display of sovereign mercy demands a shift in how we perceive our rescue.

Looking Toward Life

The narrative of the serpent and the Savior is a chronicle of total extraction from eternal death. We have moved from the shadow of the venom into the light of the Kingdom. This reality shifts our posture from passive observation to active awe. We no longer look at our wounds; we look to the One who took the blow for us. Practical faith is simply this: looking to Him for life.

Dear Lord of all, we are filled with awe at your mercies that rescue us from eternal death. Teach us to look to you for life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
